All the disciples of Jesus had one thing in common: they were called by Jesus to do one thing: to follow Him. This is true of every disciple, and indeed, anyone who wants to be a disciple of Christ. God did not give us Christianity to practice; He gave us Jesus to follow. We are not to follow systems, doctrines, program, etc.
While there are various programs teaching people about God, about the call of God in their lives, how to be a Christians or a leader, but no one can come to Christ on his own, or by personal decision, effort or desire. Jesus said: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44). Earlier in the same chapter Jesus said: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:36). “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” (Rom. 9:16).
There is a difference between Discipleship School and other Biblical Study programs like Bible School, Seminary School or Theology School. In these schools, the teaching is mostly about what people say God says, preserving the doctrines of the school’s founding fathers and or maintaining the denominational trend. But in Discipleship School, there is only one teacher, Jesus Himself through the Holy Spirit in you. “The anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” (1Jn 2:27). This means that every disciple learns directly at the feet of Jesus. Co-ordinators merely serve as emptying vessels.
Our aim is to encourage you develop that relationship with Jesus so you can learn directly at his feet through His Spirit. To “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Tim. 2:15).
This will not be a reality IF the Spirit of Christ who will take what is of Christ and make it ours is not in us. Study will be mere head-knowledge and information about Christ rather than heart-knowledge and formation in Christ.
We invite you to come partake of this discipleship experience of following Jesus, not denomination, doctrines and so on.
