The Prison Medical Outreach
Most Prisons in Africa are not correctional facilities. They are in deplorable conditions and often receives no attention. The inmates in a room are over crowded in the ratio one to hundred, sometimes, more and little or no care are given to them including food, medications, etc.
During our Annual Convention (CAMP) every October, we usually extend our outreach to these facilities, primarily, to share the Gospel with them and show them the love of Christ with team of Volunteers (medical, religious, social, legal and friends of the ministry from far and near.
In 2011, about 900 inmates were ministered to with food, clothes, medications, books, bibles, literatures and first aid treatment was offered to those with skin infections, malaria, typhoid fever and other ailments. Many have no access to good food and medical treatment, and some have been there for years for a bailable offence of just $10 that they cannot afford to pay.
About 88 inmates responded to altar call and gave their lives to Christ during the October 2011 outreach, two of which have been granted State pardon since then.
In 2009, an inmate on a death sentence was granted State pardon and released to us for rehab and vocational training which the Lord has enabled us to provide.
This year, The CAMP will visit Agodi Prison (Ibadan) and Ilesha Prison (Osun State). Please, support us with your prayers and materials.
Every year, CAMP takes the Gospel of the love of Christ to remote Villages and hinter lands in Africa. Jesus died for them too. Many of these rural people have not herd the Gospel because most believers don't want to labour in hinter regions and only few churches do send Missionaries to these remote places and many of them, without motivation.
CAMP travels to the remote and interior places to partner with local missionaries, giving them support, reliefs and together reaching out to the natives.
The material needs of the people are great. Where we can, we provide what we have; often in food, medications, first aid, etc. Recently, a need of a particular village would not just leave us alone and we are trusting God to lead us to do what He wants us to do for this community in Sourthern Ghana whose major needs is water. They need a well where they can get water to drink, cook, wash, etc.
In 2010 and 2011, we have been ministering to villages in Kwantanain, Bukutu and in Ghana with a partnership of The Kingdom of God Baptist Church of Chicago. But it is yet to come to fruition.
The Light of the world Ministries of Maryland in artnership with other ministriees in Maryland were able to provide a borehole and generator to pump the water from the bore hole to a community in Oyo State, Nigeria.
CAMP will visit these two villages urgently needing the water in Ghana again in 2012. How beautifrul would it be to be able to sink a well at the time. Please, pray on it and seek the face of God for leading andn direction.
Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana consists of nationals who escaped from war in their home countries, many from Liberia, Sierra Leonne, Ivory Coast, Congo, Sudan and other places and are placed as refugees under the UNHCR program. Many are children who have lost parents, relatives, etc and have been maimed in one way or the other but surviving.
In 2004, CAMP responded to the Macedonian Call by the Sierra Leoninan Community in the Refugee Camp who were neglected after settling them in the Camp. Food, accomodation, etc became a problem and the vulnerable ones among them were dying. CAMP was able to provide accomodation for many of them through the sponsorship of The Word of Faith Ministries in Miami, Florida. A church metamorphosed which is still standing till date with almost 200 membership.
The needs there are still as great as ever as it has become a melting port of many nationals; Liberians, Sierra Leonian, Congolese, Sudan, etc who found succour in the gathering since many cannot return home.
Every year, CAMP holds a discipleship Summit and Leadership Training to equip the church and provide support for them. This year, the Discipleship Summit and Conference will still hold. You can attend, sponsor or be a part of this work in Ghana.
