God is PerfectA king once had a slave who, in all circumstances always say “everything God does is perfect, no mistake”.
One day, they went hunting in the forest and a wild animal attacked the king. The slave managed to kill the animal but couldn’t prevent the king from losing a finger from the attack. Furious and sad, the king said to the slave: “if God was good, I wouldn’t have been attacked and lost one finger”. The slave replied: “despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good and everything He does is perfect. He is never wrong!” Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of the slave. Much later, he left for another hunting and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices. On their altar as they wanted to kill him, they discovered that one finger in the king’s hand was missing. So they released him as they considered him unfit for the sacrifice to the gods. On his release and return to the palace, he authorized the unconditional release of the slave and said to him: “God was really good to me. I was almost killed, but for lack of a single finger, I was let go. But I have a question: if God is so good and really so good, why did He allow me to put you in jail?” The slave replied: “My king, if I have gone with you, I would have been sacrificed for you because I have no missing finger”. Always remember that at any time, God is good, even when you don’t understand what he is doing in your life. He does no evil and when evil happens to us, he allows it for a purpose and that purpose is for our own good. In everything, give thanks. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1Thes.5:18). |
