DARE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE by Bola Olu-Jordan
Jesus is trusting you to make a difference around you. He is waiting to be honoured in your life. Will you take a stand for Him, amidst many compromises that the church has reduced Christianity to? Will you let your heart yearn for more of Jesus than miracles? Will you desire real fellowship more than just Sunday, Sunday jamboree? Will you allow your spirit to respond to worship more, than your body respond to mere rhythm of music that satisfies your orgy more than give God glory? Remember, Jesus desires personal fellowship with you, not just playing church or religion, will you give him your heart? It is better to do more of talking your problem over with Jesus on your knees, than with your friend. Go to Jesus more, than you go to your pastor; Jesus can do much more than your friend, uncle, sister, brother, etc who promised but can fail, if only you will spend more time waiting on Him to perfect the best for you. Delay is not denial. Desire not only His works, but also His ways. Trust in Him and He will lead you. Go out this week with the consciousness that Jesus is by your side, following you everywhere you go and listening to every of your conversation. Open your heart to Him and encourage Him to help you control your thoughts and words. Show Him your hair-do and ask Him if He loves it; the type of dress you wear, how it glorifies Him; how much of your spending is used to assist those around you. ‘Gist’ with your friend in His presence and invite Him to participate. Dare to introduce your best friend to Jesus! Will you say the same word you said today to that cab driver or that stranger, if Jesus were to be physically by your side? Does it portray you as a child of God? If someone were to suddenly call you a ‘brother’ or ‘sister’ in your place of work or home, would it not be strange to your colleagues? If those who know you as ‘something else’ suddenly sees Jesus by your side, will they not be surprised? When there is chaos in your neighbourhood, will someone remember that you are a praying Christian? Brother or sister, you are the epistle that people read and Jesus is depending on you to reach more people for Him more with your action than your confession. People want to see Christ in your life, more than in the Bible. Will a brother or sister go to hell because of your negligence with your dress, talk or other things you ‘allow’? Let Christ be magnified in your life this week. ‘Comfort the feeble minded. Support the weak. Be patient toward all men. Do not render evil for evil to any man. Rejoice ever more. Pray without ceasing |
